TAMS Graduation 2009
When is it?
Graduation will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, Friday, May 15, 2009. Students need to line up at 6:15 pm.
Where will it be held?
The ceremony will be held in the Auditorium Building
(map) on the UNT campus. Doors open
at 5:30 PM for guests.
Where do I park?
Parking is available in the UNT Parking
Garage
(map), however there is a fee to use
the UNT parking garage and it may be full due to other events in the
University Union. You may also park in any of the "D" lots after 3:00 PM on Friday. Please do not park in any "A" reserved space until after 5:00 PM. There
are several metered spaces close to the Auditorium Building (map).
How many family members may attend?
Seating is limited. Each student may bring
eight guests to the ceremony.
Is there a reception?
The reception will be held in the Silver Eagle Suite of the University Union
(map)
immediately after the ceremony.
Are there graduation speakers?
The commencement speakers are Abby Pinto and Mark Pavlyukovsky. The standard bearers have not been choosen yet. Their names will be posted when they have been selected.
Students:
Students will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony without a cap and gown. It is not too late to order cap and gown or graduation announcements. Quantities of announcements are limited so place your order soon. Call Balfour at 972-495-2440 or go to www.dallasbalfour.com
Students that have already placed their orders will get their orders as follows:
Graduation announcements were delivered to McConnell Hall on March 11, if you ordered after the group date, they will be available at the Dean's Office. You will be contacted by e-mail when they come in.
Cap and gown will be delivered on April 22nd in Mac Cafe from 5:00 to 5:30 PM.
Parents:
TAMS has no knowledge of, nor sponsors any post-graduation parties. If you
have questions or concerns about such an event, please call the Student Life
Office at (940) 565-3603.
Traffic to Denton from the DFW area can be congested, especially on Friday afternoons. Please plan your trip accordingly.
We have arranged for FLASH Photography to be the official photographer for our commencement ceremony. Every graduate will be photographed as they receive their diploma and will be mailed a proof after the ceremony. For more information, contact FLASH Photography at 214-443-9393 (www.flashphotography.com).
Parents are welcome to photograph their child as they cross the stage, however please be mindful of the photographer from FLASH Photography and of other parents so that everyone can enjoy the ceremony. Please do not linger at the front of the Auditorium.
There will not be an official photographer to make a video tape of the ceremony.
