We come in, apprehensive and eager, introduced by the dim lighting and the heavy beats of “Soulja Boy” being played over and over again.
Kevin Roden sits down in his little spotlight, the mediator of this discussion, and greets us by explaining the purpose of Dessert and Discourse, a meeting held every month on Thursday nights: to provoke our young minds to question society’s standards, as well as our own opinions, and become stronger in our beliefs with good reasons behind them.
