Dr. Allen After receiving the Ph.D. degree in mathematics at age 25 from Oklahoma State University - and the Da.D degree (our oldest daughter was born on the same day), I joined the Mathematics Department at UNT. In 1976 I was asked to serve as chair of the mathematics department and held that post for 23 years, after which I returned to full time teaching. It has been a great joy to teach TAMS classes and I continue to do so. Interests out side the university include swimming (which I do nearly every day for exercise), reading spy novels, classical music, vegetable gardening and my family. |
