McConnell Hall to get new beds - Fall 2008
McConnell Hall is set to get a much needed overhaul of our bed systems throughout the building. Up to this point, we have had three different size beds among the various rooms. The first week of August, this should all change. Students who were here last year voted on an option of loft-style beds for each room.
Each mattress is now roughly 80 inches long (6 feet, 8 inches). You are able to purchase sheet for this by looking for the Twin XL or Twin X-Large at most stores (Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.) The mattress can be raised to 58 inches tall (measuring to the bottom of the metal bed frame) and is 37.5 inches wide. There will be two of these in each room. You can fit a desk, small sofa, or other furniture below the bed. Below are pictures of what this bed system will look like:


You are still allowed to build your own custom loft, however, all the pieces of this loft must remain in your room throughout the school year.
