Tammy joined the TAMS staff in January 2006 after relocating from North East Texas. Since graduating from Texas A&M University-College Station in 2001 with a BS in Recreation, Parks & Tourism Sciences, she has gained experience in outdoor education, film making, massage therapy, arts administration, festival planning, and a little music business.

Tammy was drawn to Denton after several years of visiting friends, and the consideration of pursuing a Master’s degree with UNT. However, deciding which area of interest to focus her study remains a difficult task. Many have thought to understand the deep workings of Tammy’s mind and have offered suggestions to her future endeavors; however, in the words of Jimmy James, millionaire and owner of WNYX News Radio, “I am a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, smothered in secret sauce.”

While contemplating the meaning of life and her purpose in it, Tammy keeps herself busy listening to indie/alternative rock music, hanging out with friends, reading, writing, dancing, learning guitar, planning special events and other random activities that pack out her schedule. Some of her other life joys are good company, live performances, personal growth, and very dark chocolate.
