DeAndre Bluitt
Resident Assistant

DeAndre is a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry at the University of North Texas. In the summer of 2006 he was selected to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center Summer Medical and Dental Education Program. In fall 2006, DeAndre was admitted to the R.E. McNair Program. In The following spring of 2007, DeAndre was selected to attend the University of Nebraska Medical Center Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP), to do research in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Department. He has presented research at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine Annual SURP Conference, Omaha, NE, Aug 3, 2007. DeAndre is an active member of the Denton community. In 2005 he organized the DFGHT Math and Science Enrichment Program. The program serves children ages 8-18 with tutoring in math, science, and study methods. DeAndre has been a Resident Assistant at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science since spring 2007. After graduation, he plans to pursue a dual M.D.PhD degree that will allow him to combine clinical and lab experience in cancer research.
