Information
on Becoming a Club Officer
Are you interested
in becoming a club officer during your senior year? Here's what
you need to know:
Your involvement and commitment to your club during your first
semester will have a large impact on your ability to gain a leadership
position your senior year. Get involved and volunteer whenever
you can in order to demonstrate your commitment to the club.
New officer elections take place in the Spring semester. The exact
dates will be posted as soon as they are finalized.
All clubs are given the responsibility of deciding how they are
going to decide next year's officers and they should make that
known to all who are interested. Each club chooses candidates
in their own unique way. Contact the current executives of the
club you are interested in to find out more specifics.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - You must have made at least a 3.10
GPA your Fall semester in order to run and must have return in
the Fall of your senior year on 3rd semester privileges in order
to keep your position. You must have 30 or fewer points in order
to run and must remain at 30 or fewer points for the remainder
of the school year in order to keep your position. It is possible
to run for a position under certain special circumstances if you
fail to meet this eligibility requirement - click here
to see more details.
You can only hold one officer position. Club
officer positions can be time-consuming and involve significant
responsibility. For this reason, no student can hold more than
one club officer position. However, you may run for up to 2 officer
positions. If in the event you are selected for both of these
positions, you must choose one and give up the other. The club
that is affected by the loss of a winning candidate due to the
above situation must select the person who had the next highest
number of votes.
